Welcome to D.C.

“Welcome to D.C.” familiarizes the listener with a side of the capitol city that most visitors never get to see; a thriving metropolis removed from the politics that govern this nation.

Every episode, SOTRU travels to a different American City and asks the questions: What creates community? Who are the people that bring the community together? What are the issues they face?

Through the course of an hour, host Al Letson will try to answer these questions by interviewing various people in the city, from institutions to the average resident. “Welcome to D.C.” delves into a side of the capitol city that visitors miss. D.C. is filled with arts and culture unique to the area, individuals striving to make the city a better place, and neighborhoods struggling to return to their former glory.
