Pen a Letter to Your City
A segment of ever
y State of the Re:Union episode is dedicated to what we call our “Dear City” letters, where we ask people who are making a difference where they live if they’d be willing to write a letter TO their city, town or region. What would you like to say to your city, if you could say anything? We’re looking for personal, authentic stories, whether it be from a place of love and joy, one of anger or dismay, and everything in-between.

Here are the guidelines:
- Feel free to be as creative as you would like… the only constraint is to keep it under 400 words.
- All letters should start the same way with “Dear (city name),” and end the way you’d sign a normal letter, i.e. “Sincerely, John Barnett.”
- Also, remember to refer to your city in the second person (You). We want these to sound like your speaking directly to your town.
Send your letters to: cityletters(at)stateofthereunion(dot)com.
We record some of the “Dear City” Letters being read for inclusion on our website and in our broadcast episode. Please provide your name and phone number if you’re open to having your letter recorded and featured on State of the Re:Union’s website!
